The Cuckmere Haven

The Cuckmere Haven Triptych represents the varying stages of deterioration of sea defence structures at Cuckmere Haven Beach. I have photographed much of the East Sussex Coast, where erosion is visibly diminishing any attempt to control the volatile shoreline, with particular attention given to the Cuckmere River and the Cuckmere Haven area.

Cuckmere Haven is much photographed for its classic pictorial portrayal of the Seven Sisters cliffs, but within the confines of the beach itself stand the imposing yet fragile remnants of historical sea defences and other structures that change their form after each winter storm.
